Government Advocacy
The Chamber represents the business community before City and County and State government. We track issues that affect local business, report them to our members, and support or oppose legislation involving small business.
GA-RTAC, the Government Affairs - Regional Transportation Advisory Committee, composed of county and City government, State agencies, utilities and our elected officials and community group representatives meet every 3rd Thursday of the month at the Chamber.
Networking
Connecting our members is what we do. Our get-togethers combine great food from our host venue, a fun game to meet new people, new member introductions, and speakers. We introduce newcomers to the group and offer you an opportunity to address them. making everyone feel welcome and connected is our goal. Members may promote their business by hosting a mixer or donating a door prize.
Member Information Center
The Member Information Center (MIC) was created for our individual members. To access it, create your ogin credentials (your email and a password). With your login, you may begin using this convenient tool to update your business information: (1) Check your profile information (2) Add photos to your Chamber web page, (3) Pre-register for Chamber events, (4) Post job openings (5) Post Member to Member discounts (6) Post Hot Deals for the public review your account (7) pay invoices and (8) post your events to our online calendar.
Support During Tough Times
From late 2019, the Chamber shifted its top priority to supporting and assisting our local businesses during the pandemic. Most recently, we assisted our members during and afer the blizzard storms of Winter 2023. During those times. businesses were quickly provided with information and resources to manage damages, apply for grants and loans, and assist individual business owners . .
Chamber - Trusted and Reliable Source for Potential Customers
Did you know that 85% of consumers today turn to the local Chamber of Commerce for a referral. Our Chamber is a trusted and reliable resource for your potential customers through calls to our office, visits to the website, and our social media channels. Customers consider membership in the Chamber valuable because they know that credible businesses belong to their local Chamber.
Special Alerts
The Chamber sends out emergency alerts about road work and closures, electrical outages, natural disasters and other timely information. This information is what our members want and need. The alerts help members plan ahead whenever possible. For many members, an alert about a road closure has prevented a frustrating trip down the mountain or back up.
Weekly eNewssche
Every Friday, look for eNews in your email (take us out of your spam folder) with local business news, events, industry trends, member of the week, new members, Chamber events, and legislative news. We publish information about trends, best practices and resources to enable our members to run their businesses efficiently.
Grand Opening/Reopening Ceremonies
The Chamber celebrates new businesses and those that have made notable improvements to their business. Upon request, we will schedule and promote, photograph and attend your special event. We provide a red ribbon and the "big scissors" for your ribbon cutting and we contact our elected officials to provide you with certificates of recognition. We ask for at least 2 weeks prior notice.
Training and Workshops
The Chamber keeps you apprised of free websinars and trainings for business owners, supervisors and employees on a wide range of business topics.
35-seat Conference Room
Our members may schedule use of our private conference room for meetings, trainings and event preparation at no charge. Non-members pay a fee for its use. The room seats 35 persons comfortably and includes use of a white board and Zoom technology (small fee for Zoom usage) and a conference telephone plus internet access.
Online Community Calendar
Though the Member Information Center (MIC) members may post events on our website community calendar. It's easy to do and if you run into a snag, staff is available to guide you.
Searchable Business Directory
Our member businesses are easily found by internet visitors through "Find a Business" link to our online searchable business directory. Readers can quickly find your business page through this link. On your business page (via Chamber website) you are in charge of adding or editing text or photos. The page will automatically list your location, contact information and links to your business website and social media.
Member to Member Deals
Through MIC, you can post a great deal that will only be available to Chamber members. If you need ideas, contact the Chamber. We have creative and innovative staff to help you with an idea!
Social Media Promotion
The Chamber promotes our members through our social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linked In. The Chamber understands that you may neither have time or money to promote your business. Your online presence is paramount to success in this modern time and the Chamber is here to help you.
Job Board Postings
Through the Member Information Center (see top right) you can post job openings for free. Set the date it runs, the date it ends, qualifications, contact information and skills you require. It's easy to do!
