Event Description: Pacific Crest Trail Fest 2012 is coming to Big Bear July 27-29 at the Northwoods Resort and Conference Center on Village Drive. Come enjoy the camaraderie of old and new trail friends. Sit in on some of our interesting classes on horse packing; the geology of the PCTA; using a GPS on the trail; wildlife on the trail and more. A Saturday night banquet features keynote speaker Justin "Trauma" Lichter who has hiked not only the Pacific Crest Trail, but the Appalachian Trail, the Continental Divide Trail, and logged thousands of miles in Africa and New Zealand. Justin's presentation will feature stunning images and tales from his most recent hike of the Great Himalaya Trail in Nepal. On Sunday, take a hike with PCTA staff and volunteers who maintain 2,650 miles of trail every year, keeping it pristine for day hikers, backpackers and through-hikers.
