Live & Work

Ask most residents how they came to Big Bear and they will share that they first vacationed here, then purchased a second home and subsequently moved here full-time.  We are the quintessential small town that is close to all of Southern California , but far enough away to be considered a great vacation get-away for over 6 million visitors annually.   Situated high in the pine-scented San Bernardino Mountains at 7000 feet, Big Bear experiences pristine air (quality) and all four seasons of Mother Nature’s glory, with snow in the winter, 75 to 80 degree temperatures in the summer, spring  flowers, and fall colors.  We have a beautiful fresh water lake, two ski areas, miles of hiking trails through national forest, hundreds of annual events, and much more, making Big Bear an all around great place to call home.
