    Event Description:
Fawnskin, CA  . . . The Big Bear Discovery Center is excitedly waiting the winter season, and they have plenty activities in store for you! The Big Bear Discovery Center is your gateway to adventure and discovery in the San Bernardino National Forest. Visit the Discovery Center to get forest information, passes, and permits. While here, walk around to view displays, stop at the naturalist desk and have your nature questions answered, or join in on one of the weekend programs. The Discovery Center offers year-round activities for all ages.

The winter brings some of our favorite visitors to the forest- bald eagles! Volunteer to help the USFS count the bald eagles wintering on the San Bernardino National Forest. All volunteer eagle counts meet at the Discovery Center between 8-8:30am. Please dress warm and bring your own binoculars. The count goes from 9am-10am. Following the count at 11am, join USFS Wildlife Biologist Robin Eliason for an exciting presentation about our favorite winter visitor, the Bald Eagle. These free events are offered Saturdays, December 10, January 14, February 11, and March 11!
